TREE PLANTING
Tree planting is recognized as one of the most engaging environmental-friendly activities that people can take part in. In creating a better planet, tree planting is the best way to do it. Trees provide a multitude of benefits, both long and short-term, as well as, aesthetic attraction, trees remove and store carbon from the atmosphere, slow heavy rain, reduce the risk of flooding, enhance air quality and improve urban heat effect by reflecting sunlight and providing shade.
Trees greatly benefit the people living around them by having a positive impact on mental health and well-being. Trees reduce stress and encourage outdoor physical exercise. This is in addition to the benefits they will receive from the improved environmental quality and improved amenity that comes with planted areas.
Restore what has been lost, we strive to bring back a green environment dense with grasses and big trees. Grasses that paved highways and trees that were planted were cut, and the areas were turned into industrialized zone. The primary cause of deforestation is unlawful cutting down of trees for personal profit resulting in landslides and flooding. Trees help avoid the occurrence of flooding and combat global warming. But, if humans continue to cut trees, it will continue to disrupt the ecosystem resulting in significant losses that have a tremendous impact on human life.
In order for Mother Nature to be saved, Peers TY System Movement is consistently implementing Tree Planting Activities every school semester with the guidance of the initiator, Bensen Pola. The activity is performed by the students with different degree programs in MMSU as a requirement in their course subject. Students are required to plant 5 seedlings per individual and most of the planted seedlings are fruit-bearing trees. "When we heal the Earth, we heal ourselves" (David Orr). Students are taught to be one with nature always. Planting trees is a part of the climate solution!
