April 2017-PEERS TY SYSTEM MOVEMENT visited MMSU-Student Service and Development office for the filing of registration documents for the recognition and implementation of campus and community projects that paved the way in conducting the Info Drive Campaign held in some Barangays of the City of Batac last.

Beach clean-ups are volunteer activities that take place on a regular basis. Organizing regular local beach clean-ups can help remove plastic pollution from the marine ecosystem and thus protect local wildlife. This is the reason why the Environmental group, Movement Against Plastic Pollution in Ilocos Norte came up with an idea called MOO2018: Ocean Walk & Beach Clean-up held on May 5, 2018, at Currimao, Ilocos Norte. The assembly of the said activity was in Brgy. Victoria, Fish Landing Center from 7:30-8:00 AM. The volunteers were asked to bring sack or garbage bag, extra clothes, reusable gloves or garden gloves, and drinking water in a reusable water bottle.

Another activity that happened on May 5, 2018, is the TREES for LIFE and the You-Forest Approach which was performed by BSA-Agronomy III-B, BSA-Horticulture III-A, and BSA-Animal Science III-B. As B. Pola said to his students, “Keep planting trees every year and name the tree that you are planting. This is what we need to do. Turn every free land into a forest as an investment, and at the same time, help our planet.”

Another event led by Movement Against Plastic Pollution in Ilocos Norte held on May 6, 2018, was the Emergency Clean-up. By participating in clean-ups, citizens can create immediate results and permanent changes in their local areas. The assembly of the said activity was in Pangil Beach Resort, Currimao, Ilocos Norte at 2:30 PM. The volunteers were asked to bring refillable water bottles, sacks, and extra shirts.

Another Beach Clean-up was held in Bantay Lussok (Casa Consuelo Island reef), Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte on May 12, 2018. This event was led by Baybay ti Norte Kooperartiba and Chad Tamayo. The meeting place was in Casa Consuelo, carpool up to Adonai and clean the beach back from Bantay Lussok. This piece of Pagudpud coastline is exposed to the Amihan winds and currents rounding the top of the Island. With only a small fishing village between Adonai and Bantay Lussok, 95% of the trash here has blown in from the sea. A great opportunity to explore and clean up this unpopulated stretch of coastline, leaving it as nature intended, plastic, and waste-free. The volunteers were asked to bring water in a reusable bottle, hat, and sunscreen.

Another Community Clean-up Drive was held in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte on May 26, 2018. A community clean-up brings volunteers together to clean, repair, and improve public spaces or other areas (such as vacant lots or abandoned properties) that have been neglected, vandalized, or misused. This event was led by AgentRyan and conducted the activity along the highways and coastal area of Brgy. Caruan to Estancia. The volunteers were asked to bring reusable gloves, tumbler, extra clothes and money, packed foods, 1-2 liters water, cap or umbrella, and garbage bag or sack.

On May 29, 2018, an Information Drive was held in Brgy. Cal-laguip, Barangay Hall, City of Batac in coordination with the Punong Barangay Lemwel Duldulao for allowing the students to conduct the information drive which was led by Grace Valiente and the rest of the Peers TY System Movement (PTSM). Dr. Angelina Abrojena, MMSU CBEA Dean already approved the letter, and everyone was invited to join and share their knowledge in order to raise awareness and make a change around environmental issues.

On June 10, 2018, an activity called the Usapang Dagat: A marine conservation day camp was held which was a venture of organizations, namely, Coastal Cleanup in Ilocos Norte with the collaboration of Movement Against Plastic Pollution in Ilocos Norte, PEERS TY SYSTEM Movement, Amianan Org, and Biyaherong Ilokano Org.

On June 11, 2018, another Trees for Life and YOU Forest Approach Activity was conducted by a group of PTSM from the College of Agriculture, Food and Sustainable Development. One of the best ways to plant a tree - Trees for Life -is to give your name to the tree planted. Name that tree by giving your own name. It will deeply signify that you have planted yourself into that tree. Do not allow anyone to cut down the tree. Cutting your tree is cutting off your significant value in contributing something to the world.

There is a need to put these mountains back into their forest conditions and give equal importance by adapting the YOU - Forest Approach. The concept of the YOU - Forest Approach revolves on the reason of recovering the natural conditions of nearby mountains that were significantly denuded. When the tree grows, you see yourself more and analyze yourself better because the one who gave life to the tree is YOU. Hence, the YOU-FOREST is here to save lives. YOU are saving lives by planting trees and making it a FOREST. It is wise doing the YOU-Forest because it is living our true selves as a rational human beings.

Another activity led by Grace Valiente (PTSM President) is the Coastal Clean-up Drive held in Brgy. #36 Natba in the Municipality of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte on June 30, 2018. There was also another event that happened on the same day,  which was the Mappan Tayo Agpidot Basura 2.0 led by Movement Against Plastic Pollution in Ilocos Norte that was held in Currimao, Ilocos Norte.        Another Coastal Clean-Up Drive was held at Brgy. Salugan, Brgy Victoria, and Brgy. Gaang Currimao, Ilocos Norte. This activity was led by Grace Valiente, PTSM President, on July 7, 2018. And, another activity that happened the same day was the Plastic Free July Clean-Up #1 led by Movement Against Plastic Pollution in Ilocos Norte at Subli-Subli Beach Resort.
